Teen Speaks Out On Cop Beating

A Seattle sheriff's deputy pleaded not guilty to charges he assaulted a 15-year-old girl in a holding cell. Julie Chen spoke with the girl and her father about the alleged assault.

Huh...
Found in a car after it was reported stolen. Doesn't matter if it was the other girl's mom's vehicle. It was reported stolen so the police will treat the occupants as the alleged car thieves and book them accordingly.
"No, it didn't hit him at all." See 0:29 of the above video (granted probably not hard enough to make blood pockets or whatever they stated).

Does anyone pay attention to what happens every time law enforcement has dealt with enough of a person's non-compliance to requests? STFU, listen and things go a lot smoother. Or better yet; don't break the f**king law.

I don't condone the officers' actions in the least, but to be honest, I don't feel bad for her at all and I refuse to upvote her "woe is me" routine.

I agree, the officer was over reacting, but I can't feel sorry for the girl either. When you mouth off to the police and throw something at them you need a wake up call. As far as I'm concerned the police should have just forcibly cuffed the girl and locked her in the cell until her parents got there. It should then be the parents that apply the beating the kid deserves for something like that(I'm not demanding a physical beat-down, but neither would I rule it out). Respecting the police is probably the most serious thing a kid needs to learn in life.

If that were my daughter getting a beating, it wouldn't mather who it was, I would fuck him up. Alot.

Trying to assault police officers has always been smart in the past, so I can't imagine anything going wrong with your plan!

BC and Lucky obviously have never been in jail before.

You are treated like a giant piece of shit, no matter what the hell you have done. You are taunted, ridiculed, called ridiculous names, harassed and basically lied to as much as possible, unless you know your rights and stick up for them.

And to think she somehow deserves to get the shit beat out of her for getting a sneaker come close to almost brushing against your leg.. holy shit you guys! WTF? That's a big downvote from me.

These are "fat pigs" and if they flip out over a teenage girl tossing a shoe at them, they should be nowhere near an armed weapon or a tazer.

Yeah, flipping a shoe at someone does not deserve what this cop did to her. He WAY over reacted to the situation. And if that caused "blood pockets" then this pussy needs to get another job, 'cuz I'd hate to see what would happen to him if someone punched or shot him.

Serious upvote for a victim being so reasonable. I'm totally stunned they're not seeking 3 times the national debt in emotional damages. And I totally agree with them, he should no longer be a police officer since he cannot handle his aggression.

Does this sticking up for your rights include verbally assaulting your arresting officers and throwing things at them? I don't know how doing those things could be considered sticking up for your rights. Does it make officers call you less ridiculous names and stop harassing you?

I didn't say or imply she deserves to get the shit beat out of her. In fact, I said I don't at all condone the officers' actions. They probably should be fired for having such a terrible lack of control over their anger. All I said was I don't feel sorry for her. The officers were extraneous to my point.

The girl demonstrated that she has no respect for authority and not even a shred of common sense by continually insulting the officers then finally kicking her shoe at them. It's like those guys at the zoo who kept shooting rocks at that tiger with their slingshot until it found a way to escape from its enclosure and attack them. My point is they wouldn't have been killed and maimed if they just hadn't insisted on provoking the tiger.

If you're intentionally doing something that carries with it inherent risk to your safety (for no reason other than you are a disrespectful piece of shit) and that risk is realized as a direct result of your own actions, I just can't feel sorry for you.

There are too many selfish, self-centered, disrespectful people in this world who don't give a shit about their elders, authorities, or just anyone else in general.

and yet here we have an example of an authority figure that doesn't respect things like Human Rights or give a shit about the very citizens he is supposed to protect. A Grown adult authority figure BEAT UP A TEENAGE GIRL. For me, that's really all there is to it. This is someone whose job title is "To Serve and Protect", and he lacks the most basic bits of self discipline, and exploded in a violent rage because, get this, a teenage girl said some words and acted a little bratty.
Sorry, but I will never, ever be able to pull the "blame the victim" bullshit of justifying or glossing over an egregious over-reaction with "well, if you'd have just shut up and taken it, then it wouldn't have happened to you, you kinda deserve that brutally unjust response".

A cop just beat up an unarmed teenage girl, who posed ZERO threat to anyone, while in police custody in a jail cell. There is no viable excuse or justification for that under any circumstance.

I'm not sure I'd really have respect for someone who is attempting to lock me in an inescapable room.

lol at you guys trying to justify gratuitous violence. Police officer or not, you cannot hit someone else unless in self-defense. Obviously the girl was not a threat to the officer's life or even his physical integrity and neither was she resisting arrest or anything (she willfully entered the cell and took off her shoes when asked). Thus this should be automatic battery. Also, the officer should be forced to check into a mental hospital : being provoked by a 15 year old girl already inside a prison cell is really immature to say the least.
