kceaton1jokingly says...Everytime a baby sperm dies a zygote enters an unwanted menstruation cycle.
HadouKen24says...Hah, very funny.
Oklahoma resident here. They didn't leave much in indicating Senator Johnson's intent for the amendment. She was actually trying to get abortion opponents to fall into just the trap that Senator Shortey fell into. (Senator Shortey, by the by, is no stranger to introducing bizarre bills.)
Senator Johnson is actually pretty staunchly pro-choice.
Fantomassays...
bareboards2says...I got a call from an Okie relative, saying that I had to watch this.
She is so embarrassed at the idiots in the legislature there.
ForgedRealitysays...What about all the women who "waste" living cells every time they menstruate? They're all going to hell!
heropsychosays...Saw this when it originally aired and completely lost it about three times through the segment. Instant classic Daily Show segment!
ChaosEnginesays...Hahaha, awesome! She's highlighting the ridiculousness of these laws by proposing an even more ridiculous law. It's satire!

it is satire, right?

I assumed it was, but there was always the possibility. Frankly, given some of the retarded legislation that some states have tried to pass, I wouldn't really have been that surprised.
dictionjokingly says...This is worrisome, I better go "take care of myself" before someone makes it illegal.

I know what you mean. If Johnson were a Republican I might've paused a bit longer, but then again, her proposition goes against men, and that's just not possible in today's politics
