mizilasays...So what you're saying is people on the gulf should start praying for a drought during hurricane season? God forbid anything should be on fire and it starts raining. I said it before, I'll say it again: oily hurricane + downed power line = FIRECANE!!
BoneRemakesays...awww man , I just thought of that, once they start getting hurricanes and such that oil is going to be blown alllll over trees and just sprayed like a garden hose right over the environment inland.
I know oil can evaporate, but it does it soooooOOOoOOOOo slowly, can this be possible ?

ctrlaltbleachsays...Yeah Ive been thinking about what if there was a hurricane for weeks now.
ctrlaltbleachsays...You know the problem here is this guys missing a great opportunity to exploit it. If I were him Id get me a bucket and cap the oil into little plastic containers with the words BP oil and sell them like they do ash from old Mt. St. Helens.
notarobotsays...Just days after District Judge Martin Feldman overturns a six-month ban on deep-water drilling because he has investments in the oil and gas industry? This indeed is hard times along the gulf.
alizarinsays...Oil doesn't evaporate into rainclouds so it can't be "raining" oil unless there was a waterspout (unlikely).

What about if the oil is emulsified with water using dispersants? Don't the dispersants effectively break the surface tension of the oil? What effect does that have on evaporation temperatures?
