There's so much goodness in this I don't know what to say. Loved the bad breath punishment.
lucky760I don't understand the deal with all the WTF's being passed around this post.
It's so straightforward. You have to dress up like a sea animal and slide a door as far as possible. (The ocean is obviously pretty big, so they have very wide doorways down there.)
If you fail to close the door all the way, the bad sea creatures can make their way into your home and breathe bad cannibal breath in your face. Nothing unusual about that.
You gotta love the fun Japanese spirit.
pmkierstsays...How is it we still don't have a Crazy Fucked Up Japanese Television tag?
castlesThis might be one of the best things I've ever seen on the Sift.
GreatJusticeVsays...Now this...THIS is Japanese gameshows!

My Nipponophile wife tells me that the second smelly food is fermented soybeans (natto) with garlic and green onion.
The last one was grated garlic.
Not sure what the 1st one was - the round balls. Anyone?
Raytracethey sure have huge studios/sets.
TymbrwulfAnd I thought American Television was mind-numbing... This made my brain cringe... but upvote for complete ridiculousness!
persephoneHilarious. I love the word, onegai shimasu, used with such fervour here. I use it whenever I make all those difficult-to-ask-requests of Dag. It has such a heartfelt meaning attached, for all kinds of situations. We just don't have anything like it in English. Meet someone for the first time and it means something like, be kind to me, or look out for me. Make a request and it means something like pretty please, or help me out here. In this game, it means something like, come on, you can do it.
Tyrsissays...I agree with the above comment and want to reiterate it, yet picture me saying it in tights and holding a bubble pipe.
southblvdAnybody know what that guy yells right before they do their play? Is it onegai shimasu? He says that in all the other videos where the guys are dressed up in insect costumes.
