Yep, I'll admit that I'd be covered in my own vomit. Don't act like it wouldn't be scary -- you hope that the engineering behind these buildings is solid, but they've never been tested to this extent.

Fortunately, Japan is one of the best prepared countries for an earthquake. After the Hanshin earthquake 15 years ago, buildings have been very rigorously tested for earthquake resistance.

I have been in earthquakes on the 5th floor and it was terrifying. This looks insane. I've been in windstorms on the 17th floor that banged venetian blinds against all the insides of the windows.

The buildings are supposed to do that. All the new ones in Christchurch do the same, its a hell of a ride inside, but the building is left standing and safe. But there is only so much you can do to reduce the damage.

Seismic activity has increased along with global warming.
Logic, physics, and probability all say that when you shift the mass of the earth (ice caps melting), seismic activity will increase. And it has, by a lot...in the last 30 years.
The poles are shifting.
This is the earth adjusting.
This is akin to shifting the mass of a spinning toy top.

It doesn't matter what you believe. You can believe in an invisible god-man in the sky too. This is about physics and reality. and it is going to get worse.
