Shit Republicans Say About Black People

Was he referring to black people or white people?>> ^A10anis:

When Obama was elected a black friend of mine said; "We got a black president, maybe it's time to stop using our color as a reason for not getting better jobs."

yes i repeat myself but what do you expect from a country that still divides its population by "race" on official documents? that's a concept i can't stop feeling sick about. i wonder if any other so called first world countries do that.

Hi @conan

What modern multi-ethnic society (more than 30% of another ethnicity/race) doesn't do this? There are several legitimate reasons for doing so.

If I have to live in a country ruled by republicans, and I'm not in their tribe, I damn sure want tracking by race to keep them honest.

Without tracking race in gov't level of service, company hiring, police stops, private lending and mortgages, etc, how could an oppressed minority make a compelling case about discrimination? It would be a 'he said she said' situation against the powers that be.

That is a very good and compelling argument. Never thought of it this way. Thank you.

I read this yesterday. I had a bad feeling and couldn't identify it at first.

It's the same thing that women faced (less so these days) -- they had to be much better, much smarter, much more of everything in order to get promotions/jobs.

Women and black Americans have always had a presence in higher echelons. There have been stellar examples in public life for hundreds of years.

Key word in that last sentence is "stellar." YOU HAVE TO BE head and shoulders better and tougher and wily and bull-headed and confident and impassioned to break through and rise above the mass of ordinary white men.

One amazing black man as president has not magically changed the world. It is a step.

He also is a role model -- and on that note, I agree with your friend. A path has been blazed. Now it needs to be trodden on again and again until the path is clear for the ordinary in addition to the extraordinary.

"Ah. So all black people aren't very good swimmers? Thanks for telling me. I will now take that as fact and use it going forward in all my interactions with black people. I will make sure to never invite them to pool parties.

Now.. if you have a house party with lots of fried chicken and watermelon. Well. You go on ahead and invite all the blacks you want. Also make sure you get a few dozen cases of 40oz malt liquor. Blacks like that too."

F'ing ignorant fools.

Anyone looking at the history of the Democratic Party could reasonably assume it was trying to destroy Blacks. From the klan days to the "War on Poverty's" futile government attempts to act as surrogate parent (annihilating the Black family unit) to today's modern celebration of victimhood and the soft bigotry of lowered expectations and standards.

Plus the libmedia (aka everyone but FOX and the WSJ) gives a free pass to stupid/racist things liberals say, particularly about Black conservatives.

All that aside, this sift is just weak. Liberalsift wouldn't stand for a similar collage of out-of-context remarks by liberals and so, downvote.

ps. funny how people are talking about not dividing the population into groups yet everything is 'republican' vs 'democratic' - these words basically mean nothing in modern day politics...wish people would stop lumping each other and themselves into such meaningless catagories.

QM, Olifant seems to have a problem with black people in general. I love his wit, but after seeing one sambo-ish caricature too many, decided to stop viewing his cartoons. His lampooning of Ms. Rice is par for the course in his depictions of black people across the political spectrum.>> ^quantumushroom:
