rgroom1says...i can only imagine how much that lock would hurt!
lucky760says...Fantastic!
NeuralNoisesays...Top-ranked submission fetishist neuralnoise summarizes what happened:
Little guy was all "my god where is my teeth" And big guy was all murder and stuff. Suddenly "zipt" and big guy is tap-dancing with his hands or he won´t dance again. He never, ever expected or saw that coming. wow.
Tofumarsays...I normally dislike MMA stuff quite a bit, but that was really cool.
chilaxesays...^That's one of the best complements a video can get
The sport is young enough that people are still figuring out where the boundaries are of what you can do in a fight that has almost no rules.
chilaxesays...Ryo Chonan's heel-hook here was very graceful. Heel-hooks that go wrong are much less pretty (warning: explicit injury): http://www.videosift.com/video/How-NOT-to-apply-a-heel-hookKen-Shamrock-cripples-Leon-Dijk
budzossays...The trick is to never stop adapting. Learn your precepts and then forget them.
11714says...I remember seeing my old master do flying scissor kicks at head height with incredible force. I remember thinking at the time "what in the hell are you supposed to do about that?" Very scary move and brutally effective.
budzossays...NinjaFish... you dodge.
Aniatariosays...Thats ridiculous! Silva's always been right next to invincible, make no mistake the mans got great striking skills and great groundgame, just the fact that he went down in seconds is baffling.
Also, its interesting to notice that out of the 4 losses within his MMA career 3 of them have been made by Japanese fighters. The only other being Luiz Azeredo, a fellow Brazilian.
Aniatariosays...Kinda makes you think whether or not that "flying scissor" was Chonan's plan all along, or if it was just a fluke.
deedub81says...How is that the fastest submission in history? It was in the middle of the round.
That's like saying that Britney Spears is the craziest celebrity around, when we all know that Tom Cruise is exponentially more psycho.
...it was still frickin' awesome, though.
chilaxesays...^Fastest in the sense that the fight goes from stand up striking with Silva winning to Silva tapping almost before he hits the ground
10040says...So happy after he pulled that off
moonsammysays...Awe. Some. I've never even heard of MMA before - may have to look into it if it is even close to this cool with any regularity. Anyone know if it is, or was this an exceptional occurrence?
jmdsays...dead?
jwraysays...Since when is MMA a new sport? They did some very similar shit in the Roman Colosseum.
fissionchipssays...Human limbs are incredibly weak in torsion. That's why attaching lever arms to your extremities (read:skis) is such a monumentally bad idea.
jubuttibsays...>> ^fissionchips:
Human limbs are incredibly weak in torsion. That's why attaching lever arms to your extremities (read:skis) is such a monumentally bad idea.
Which is why skis come with bindings that release under torsion. Though that doesn't stop stupid people from setting them too tight and destroying their limbs.
Good thing it was only my left knee...
