Ron Paul's Massive Haul

5.1 Million dollars in the last financial quarter - getting close to John McCain. . A very positive piece by the Blitz. Via

I am a little worried that Ron Paul would eliminate funding for NIH, NIST, Lincoln Labs, NRL, and other government research institutions. Does any one know if he has formally stated his opinion on that issue? I have not been able to find anything.

Well he seems like he's in favor of a Free Market economy and small government. So yeah I think he would try to eliminate funding for government programs that he deems aren't doing anything positive. On the plus side he was also stop Government paying Corporations expenditures, such as the Tax payer wouldn't pay for a Corporation to do research on a technology and then reap all the rewards. Or for a Corporation to just flat out take the research from a College and then reap the rewards.

I'm less interested in what he'll do fiscally because he's quite limited in his powers. I'm more interested in what he'll do about funding Israel and his plan for a two state solution.

do not confuse "withdrawing federal funding" with "hating small children and disabled people".
Anyway, just look at Ron for 5 seconds and then look at Hillary, then compare their speaking style, then if you STILL want hillary i suggest you shoot yourself. eeeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuwwwwwww. same for obama.

LiquidYogi,

I am interested in your point of view, and I have some follow up questions.

Do you think NIST, NIH and other government research and granting institutions do not help the American economy, science, or business? Do you believe it is unrealistic to think that a president can significantly diminish funding for those institutions? If research was completely funded by industry, do you think that would have an effect on scientist ability to share information?

PS. Dag, what is your opinion?
