Weapons of US soldiers in Iraq 'plagued with problems'

8051 says...

Ok let's look at what's relevant in this piece. They're comparing to the AK because it is the most used assault rifle around the world and it is what we come up against constantly.

So why don't we have a better gun. Everyone seems to be nagging about how this is wrong and that is wrong with the reporting. But are you saying that the M-16 is the best rifle our troops could have in the field? That there is no way to make anything better?

Of course, that's bullshit. If that's where we wanted to put our money we could and would. But why bother? We're busy with the latest most expensive jet that takes years to develope and billions along the way.

Ron Paul's Massive Haul

8051 says...

Well he seems like he's in favor of a Free Market economy and small government. So yeah I think he would try to eliminate funding for government programs that he deems aren't doing anything positive. On the plus side he was also stop Government paying Corporations expenditures, such as the Tax payer wouldn't pay for a Corporation to do research on a technology and then reap all the rewards. Or for a Corporation to just flat out take the research from a College and then reap the rewards.

I'm less interested in what he'll do fiscally because he's quite limited in his powers. I'm more interested in what he'll do about funding Israel and his plan for a two state solution.

Penn & Teller on Public University Speech Codes

I'd like to hear the question they posed to Noam Chomsky. I usually like him and Penn & Teller for that matter, but if you record a response without the question it's very dubious.

Introducing The Real News

8051 says...

Pater-
Maybe one news hour with reports on several subjects and goings on throughout the world being unbiased is a pipedream. But I don't believe that is the point of having a democracy where the public needs to be informed.

The idea is to encourage people to do their own free and independent study of a subject that is important. It isn't easy but it has been made a lot easier with the internet and communication being what it is today.

Being unbiased is very difficult and some would say impossible. But reporting facts that can be substantiated and giving information where you can read or study it in more detail isn't difficult at all. Imagine watching CBS and them telling you where you can read the analysis of a report on Iraq and it's history. Instead of a brief 2 minute run down and then back to commercials.

Ron Paul Girl: Register Now

8051 says...

To be fair Babymech. South Park isn't telling anyone to vote for anyone. The people of South Park were merely pointing out what we all feel in elections, is there any way I can choose someone who isn't one of these two guys?

Voting percentage is pretty bad, simply because there's no point to it. If Al Gore was President people could say "We wouldn't be in Iraq" and yes that's a legitimate argument. But would we still be funding Israel and have a strong presence in middle east affairs? Would we still be treating the Palestinians as less than dirt? Yeah we would, it would be pretty much the same policy as the Clinton Administration.

So how about we vote for someone that everyone in the media and politics is trying to not even let us have the chance to vote for. I want Ron Paul not necessarily because I agree with everything he says. But because he scares the crap out of a lot of people on both sides. That is a big plus.

CNN Interview: Handcuffed & Tazered Drunk Woman in Ohio

8051 says...

On a serious note, I agree with her. He was no longer a police officer there to protect and serve the public. He's just a guy with a tazer causing great amounts of pain at that point. I don't understand these situations though. Are Police not trained how to talk to people anymore? Are they just social outcasts who are taught that all people are just out to get them so they don't matter?

CNN Interview: Handcuffed & Tazered Drunk Woman in Ohio

Why would Marines be going through Riot training against people with Tazers? Could there be a secret plan in the works where the military might have to take over the United States of America and therefore need the training in order to take over all the local police stations?

Noam Chomsky on 911 conspiracy claims

8051 says...

I agree with Chomsky about the 'Who Cares?' comment. Because really...I've studied it top to bottom, I believe 9/11 was carried out by criminal elements of our government and now they're benifitting from it. He's exactly right though, who cares...it doesn't matter really. Nothing matters, just go live your lives and have fun. Then ya die.

9/11 conspiracy theory debunked

8051 says...

What sunk you in my eyes sir is that when he asked about Building 7 and the explanation behind that you just called him a Conspiracy Theorist. Like it's a dirty word that has more power than reasoned thinking. I would like to see an explanation of Building 7 please. And try not to disparage my name for asking about this.

Too Sexy To Fly?

8051 says...

Yeah you can see her underwear when she doesn't cross her legs. I see worse at every high school class and college class I've been in. This is not right simply because it's not excessive or unreasonable dress. And there is no stated dress code. If there was a dress code and she didn't abide by it, then you can complain. If there is no dress code but what she's wearing is revealing way too much for any reasonable person to judge, then you have a defense. By that outfit, I see nothing wrong. We need the Flyers Bill of Rights to include Dress Code posting now.
