Remove the audio track and the text at the end, and it almost looks like an intro to a Criminal Minds episode, doesn't it?

@ :44 it clearly says "Protecting A People...", with an "A" in between Protecting and People.

This makes it even worse - as in protecting "A" people from another people.

Actually it's supposed to suggest that the gardener is the white guy's property. See this for more details.

I remember seeing it a few years back an thinking that the saddest part is that there is a large percentage of the populace in this country that really do long for it to be a true account of the last 150 years.

The Spike Lee-financed "mockumentary" CSA is five tons of crap in a two-ton crate.

Being talentless (and the American people uneducated about their own history) Lee can only play up slavery, an already-dying institution when the Civil War began. It would've been more fascinating to see what a government that respected States' Rights would have done, since the gigantic federal dictatorship the South fought against has come to pass.
