Of all the surreal things in this video, the boat calmly taking the off ramp at 0:29 sticks out to me.

"Car at 1:38 barely made it out."

It very likely didn't make it out in all actuality. You can't out-drive a tsunami; you can only escape vertically.

Sure you can-hundreds of folks out-drove the waters of the inland swoosh that day-

I wasn't speaking in absolutes, but in the case where the tsunami is mere feet behind you, there's almost zero chance you're driving to safety (unless maybe you immediately start ascending a steep and tall incline).

They opt for a 3 point turn with a flood barreling down?! My right foot would be buried the whole time.
