Pre-9/11 Spider-Man Trailer

All Twin Towers scenes were famously cut from the first Spider-Man film before it was released. A few of them can be seen in this original trailer.

Ooooooohh... not good. When I first heard about this, I only thought the shots were minor. Now I see why they were cut. Good judgement call.

By the way, I love how the robbers can afford a helicopter that must've cost upwards of maybe 100 million, and they use it to rob a bank of a few thousand.

As I understand it, the footage here was not intended for the film, just this trailer - and both it and preview posters with the reflection of the Towers in Spidey's eye piece were pulled after 9/11.

And for crying out loud, it's "Spider-Man", not "Spiderman".

I always liked this trailer, but it's interesting that it has very little of the feel of the actual movie.

I met this girl at a bar after 9/11 who supposedly worked for some studio that was looking at doing a G.I. Joe movie, and she told me that the opening scene was literally C.O.B.R.A. Terrorists flying planes into the towers. She might have been completely full of shit, but that's a weird thing for a girl at a bar to make up.

I actually have this original one sheet that I got as a present when I went off to college. Naturally this is before they all got recalled after 9-11. That one sheet is very heavily copied and forged in the collectable business. A real one like mine easily sells for $500 at auction.
