New Govt Released Pentagon 9/11 Video

bamdrewsays...

I've heard arguments on both sides, and I must say I'm undecided. Both sides often choose to ignore available data that contradicts their arguement (there are many images that show debris at many areas around the site; however, it is also wild to think that any amateur pilot would be able to direct a plane of that size so well, and somehow avoiding defenses).

I think this video relies far to heavily on smokey images and undated, undocumented testimony. Its convincing, but its completely unscientific.

The subsequent release of future video fotage should clear up my mind on the matter. My only explanation for why the govnernment hasn't released this material after they finished their own investigation is because they don't own the rights, and you have to go through the courts to retrieve footage like this now-a-days (since lawsuits from the Kennedy assasination films).

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

very good point sbchapm - I'd like to hear how that is explained away. Though, I suspect the belief might be that the plane did crash, but at some other location.

Why would the pentagon release such a poor video which shows absolutely nothing? Are we to believe that the CCTV cameras of the HQ of the world's most advanced military are still from the 70s and couldn't record anything faster than 5fps with very poor resolution?

I don't know what they're hiding, but they're hiding something.

igorzsays...

First of all, there is no reason to think of the "expert" testimony as credible, as none of them seem to know a thing about the physics of collision and the intense realease of energy involved.

Second, what happened to the missing jet?

Third, why would the government cover up a missile strike?

calliopesays...

igorz, I think the idea is that the government was responsible for the missile strike and therefore would not want the public to know about it. The idea of a plane crashing into the Pentagon is far more dramatic and sympathy-inducing than the idea of a self-inflicted missile attack.

Guntersays...

Nail on head has been hit by calliope. Easy to shoot down a plane and cover up the wreckage with a quick response/recovery team by the military. It's been done before.

There are many things to consider. The structure of the pentagon is designed to withstand terrorist attacks, which would mean that there would be little damage, and the plane would have been shredded.

As for the wings, the main fuel tanks are there, and looking at the explosion and the subsequent fire that followed, most of this, if all of it would have been burned.

Sbchapm has a very good point as on all of the 9/11 programmes i have seen, there have been no interviews with friens or relatives from the pentagon crash.

Also, you have to consider why the video that would supply any evidence was confiscated.

axis42says...

OK. So I love to go after the government as much as the next guy, especially this government, but here's the thing: If this was a missile attack performed by OUR government, what possible reason could there be for it?

Do I have to remind you that on the same day, two planes flew into the world trade center and killed almost 3,000 people? Why did the government need any more "sympathy-inducing" attacks than they already had that day?

Now, I am not convinced that there isn't some sort of conspiracy here -- far from it. The crooks who run the government are not above anything in my mind and very well could have decided that killing thousands of innocent people would be the only way to shore up their power. I would NOT put that past them. But this video is far from proving anything. The wire spools could be photoshopped in as could the "unbroken windows (pretty foggy image if you ask me). The "eye witness quotes" could be made up. Can you source those people for me? Why can't you get them on camera and have them speak their words? How hard can they be to find? The "missing videos" sound so good... so, Zapruder. C'mon people.... Just cause a slick video says they exist doesn't mean they do.

This is a really neat piece of work. I really want to believe it. But in its current state, there is no reason to. It's a bunch of statements that SOUND like facts.... but are not backed up at all.

jeremy1967says...

For all of the conspiracy theorists, what about the fact that the government would have no way of controlling what the dozens, if not hundreds, of bystanders would have witnessed? The fact is, dozens of eyewitnesses DID say they saw what appeared to be a large commercial airliner strike the Pentagon. No cover story and subsequent coverup effort, no matter how ellaborate, is going to change what people saw with their own eyes.

defsays...

dont believe it but:
1.conspiracy theory is entartaining (sorry i'm naming such a tragic event entertaining - but thats how most ppl see it)
2.the material is quite nicely prepared and cut... something from moore's subjective documentary

CountBaltarsays...

Our leaders LIE and politicians are corrupt, they can tell us anything and the people believe anything,,I was under the impression it was a weather balloon that hit the pentagon!

ivixsays...

What this video shows is photographic, anecdotal and fact-based cause for *doubt* in the official story. There has been comparatively very little evidence supporting the official story.

Some people so dearly and desperately hold the belief that government could not lie to it's people that it makes them wilfully blind.

brorusssays...

Jeremy cites the Popular Mechanics article that was written to help us all feel better about the unanswered questions. Interesting that the web version of that article doesn't cite an author. The author's last name is Chertoff. If that last name sounds familiar, it's because the author is the brother of our "Homeland Security" chief Michael Chertoff. Just something to think about. Now go back to sleep America, your government is in control. Go back to watching American Idol and the NBA finals.

BayAreaGuysays...

Don't you all realize that this was done by Saddam Hussein? He was sitting over in Iraq, thinking about how raping and murdering innocents just didn't have the ZING! it used to, and it dawned on him that it would really piss of Baby Bush if he attacked the Pentagon.
It's clear that THIS is the real reason we ignored Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, et al., and went after Iraq. Wake up, people!

Apparently, and I saw the interview, which has since disappeared, that a service station across the street had video footage of the White House. Secret Service marched in, took the video and it has never been seen since.

Also, we all know they have surveylance video, you cant tell me, the White House, the center of US government doesn't use video, and more than one camera.
