Penn and Teller: Bullshit! The Bible (29min)

"It's fair to say that the Bible contains equal amounts of fact, history, and pizza." - Penn.
This is the FULL episode! There is another P&T Bullshit video on the Sift about the Bible but it's edited.

... makes a good point in the beginning, about how many religious folks pride themselve in believing things that are actually hard to believe in, and its equated to being very devout and obedient to the Lord (who will bless you, etc.).

To them argue with someone like this about religion can be pretty silly.

As long as it's on youtube I have no trouble with something being sifted like this. Every single video in the woohoo channel would have to be removed, if we were more stringent with IP. We're not the IP police, and if it's not removed from the host, I don't think we should restrict it.

so, being in violation of the Sift Rules for over a year means you get a reprieve?

Maybe that's something we should *discuss, along with solving the conflict between FAQ and actual policy.

If we did have a rule against posting entire episodes when it was sifted then it's an open and shut case in my book. However, if the rule came in effect afterwards then we might as well keep the video up.
The way I look on it, bearing in mind my background in teaching, is that someone who's graduated with passing grades shouldn't have those grades nullified when the government decides to change the curriculum. But then again you could make a good argument either way, both equally valid.

so then tell me the cutoff date and I will make sure there are no full episodes that were posted after then... if that truly is the rule here (which would be bizarre, but hey, i don't make the rules i am just trying to find out what they are)

also i feel like dag or lucky should say something before i take action, and we HAVE to update the FAQ accordingly, so that all users can follow the same rules when cleaning the place up.

Until there is a decision, and action taken, this is still under *discussion. i don't think a couple of users saying "yeah it's probably like this so let's not talk about it any more" is the end of the discussion. sorry if that seems rude. i just think the admins have to pronounce on this and update the FAQ.

in whole-hearted agreement with MINK, no full-length episodes from any boob-tube......movies are ok from the public domain, if you have doubts, roll with those or cost the site money-Penn and Teller are not idiots...they want all the money they can get-

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

Yes - this is a full episode and against the guidelines. Though I'm surprised it's still alive after all this time - perhaps P&T released it for promotional purposes?

The main reason for prohibiting full episodes is to keep us from getting in trouble for copyright infringement. Also, from a site philosophy standpoint - I don't think the Sift should be where you come to watch your favorite TV shows.

This topic is particularly relevant to Sifters though - so perhaps we should leave it up as an exception - with the assumption that P&T have given tacit approval for its publication.
