Parallel Axis Tripteron Concept

This is a proof of concept for an XYZ platform design built on top of a pair of Zaber Technologies linear stages. https://www.zaber.com/products/famili.... This specific implementation is original, but the kinematic design came from Laval university and the idea for a single long base axis came from @NicholasSeward.

The joints and platform I machined myself, but the linear platforms and controls are off-the-shelf components. I work at Zaber so have access to stages and motors and controllers and CNC machines for prototyping ideas like this.

reminds me of Delta 3D printers. Quite genius, but seems the arms/legs/elbows of this might collide with the working surface, although the "platform" could just be made taller to compensate. Won't want it to be too heavy though, as it would lose speed.
