This is why videosift is probably never growing but merely diminishing, and why I'm not giving anything to contribute. We register and participate, try to help the videos with the right tags.

But we won't ever get there since your videos merely gets 15 views.. wohoo.
It's like videosift want's it to be too troublesome and pain staking for members to come into the community. Way to go!

I'm not sure about whether VS is growing or not, but submitting one video in 6 months is not contributing really. So continue to not contribute, then whine about how you don't have any privileges because you don't contribute, I find it very entertaining.

There are many ways to contribute than through videos. If you're saying that people who post any less than 1 every 6 months aren't valuable to the community then i'm not sure i want to be part of that community.

His wording isn't clear so i'm not certain on what the guy is saying but i think he might have a decent point - there's been many bonuses and plaudits and whatnot for the super-"sifters" - but i think that term is flawed because both submitting and voting are required to sift, and our community - if i'm wanted in it - is enriched by every randomer that votes, and if someone's been voting for years they're probably more valuable in my eyes than someone who DID post more than 1 video per 6 months or whatever your cutoff is.

Yes, this is true, you can contribute more than through videos, but this is VIDEOSIFT. Videos are the bread and butter of this website, and no one has said that contributing 1 video every six months or so isn't valuable, just that they won't get the privileges that people get when they contribute more and get voted up more. I've been on this site for about 2 years, an actual member less than that. I'm glad I finally got my bronze star, but really its just a title that means I was here.
