cloudballoonsays...I'm an optimist, I still think, at least in such high-level competitions & spectators present, sportsmanship & honor still rules above a medal/ranking for the vast majority of these athletes. Can't imagine how they'd lived down the illegitimacy of these incidents.
Paybacksays...I'm not an optimist and I think it was more, "Holy Shit, I took out her pole and I STILL can't get past her. Fuckit."
AeroMechanicalsays...I wonder how it would go over in the other sports where every player doesn't have a gun.
bareboards2says...Hey! Thanks for the title!
Sportswomanship is clunky. And descriptive.
(Now to fix that "one girl steps on another girl's stick" to make the awesomeness complete!)
Digitalfiendsays...No way, she totally let up at the finish there.

vilsays...Please excuse my English, how? Is it just the apostrophe? Apostrophes on a Czech keyboard are a pain. Also, I humbly admit, I have no idea how to edit that text now :-(
And she definitely let the other girl go, also I am not aware of any tradition of this happening regularly in biathlon or cross-country skiing when sticks break or are lost due to contact.

bareboards2says...OHMIGOD YOUR FIX IS FABULOUS!!!
I am giggling with pleasure.
I even know that maybe you are making (slight) fun of me, and I don't care.
BECAUSE YOU ROCK.
