Nice show of sportswomanship

The weird sports section, biathlon. Close to the finish one world class athlete steps on another world class athlete's stick, tearing it out of her hand, and then stops competing to the finish.

I wonder how this would go over in other sports and in different countries.

Actually I wonder what (Byelorussian president) Lukashenko thinks about this. The Norwegian commentators seem to be saying Mrs. Bjørndalen did the right thing there. Cant be sure though.

I'm an optimist, I still think, at least in such high-level competitions & spectators present, sportsmanship & honor still rules above a medal/ranking for the vast majority of these athletes. Can't imagine how they'd lived down the illegitimacy of these incidents.

Hey! Thanks for the title!

Sportswomanship is clunky. And descriptive.

(Now to fix that "one girl steps on another girl's stick" to make the awesomeness complete!)

Please excuse my English, how? Is it just the apostrophe? Apostrophes on a Czech keyboard are a pain. Also, I humbly admit, I have no idea how to edit that text now :-(

And she definitely let the other girl go, also I am not aware of any tradition of this happening regularly in biathlon or cross-country skiing when sticks break or are lost due to contact.

OHMIGOD YOUR FIX IS FABULOUS!!!

I am giggling with pleasure.

I even know that maybe you are making (slight) fun of me, and I don't care.

BECAUSE YOU ROCK.
