NYPD Claims No Duty To Protect Citizens

YT: "WeAreChange recently got the opportunity to meet and Interview Joe Lozito, the selfless hero who put his life on the line to stop a serial killer. The story is only magnified when Joe finds out, that while being stabbed by the serial killer, the NYPD was standing by watching everything unfold from the safety of the conductors door. Currently in a legal suit, the NYPD and City of NY is arguing that the NYPD has NO duty to protect its own citizens."

It happens....give beat cops enough time on the street with enough LACK of debrief with pysch units, and eventually they go numb.

I have my share of NYPD stories...

..and my share from many a municipality and county from Texas to California-The institution is corrupt and the noblest intentions will be compromised eventually of anyone joining their ranks. Yet another reason the United States needs her guns...

So if the police isn't here to protect and serve, what are they here for? Oh that's right, enforce and enslave.

The job of police was originally instituted to enforce the laws that protected the rich from the poor. This incidentally involved helping poor people too, and in a lot of places, the job evolved into a good-guy authority figure.

But at its core, the job has never required more than protecting the powerful from the rest. I'm surprised that the NYPD would take that tack publicly, but I guess they figure it's better to be honest than face a large lawsuit. Money talks.
