I've done this, albeit accidently, as a child in our family garage. Don't ask me how the water in the bucket on the ground got up there, I don't know.

Another method using the same materials is to throw the bottle of drain cleaner at the lightbulb.

umm... so drain cleaner is irrelevant.

Also, if you are able to spray the bulb, I'm pretty sure you are able to throw something heavy (like spraybottle full of liquid) at the bulb.

I could have told you this worked. Me and a friend used to go around shooting people's porch/yard lights out with our water pistols when we were kids.
