Paybacksays...I called this EIA as it's obviously an evolutionary adaptation. A recent British study found 90% of premature babies with low core temperature came back to normal after cuddling within a few hours, whereas only 60% of those thrown in an incubator did. I have also met a man who was damaged mentally because someone set the incubator too high. A thing impossible if cuddling with mom...
Kestrelsays...I've heard of biting, but I've never heard of anyone being made a zombie from hugging. Look at that face closely, everyone... that's our new undead overlord.
Seriously, though... that's pretty amazing. Upvote!

Porksandwichsays...Sounds like the doctors who delivered those kids are a bunch of know it all pricks.
I can understand if they couldn't return due to procedures or whatever else, but 2 hours of this going on...and then after that ignoring the interview team who wanted to find out more. It just smacks of someone who won't go to any length beyond what's required of them by law/policy to aid someone and should rightfully be fearing a lawsuit because they obviously messed up.
I picture that doctor just sitting around waiting for news that the kid has died in the next few years so he can say I TOLD YOU.
Opus_Moderandisays...I prefer spooning to cuddling.
ponceleonsays...Not to piss on the love-fest... but I don't see any "miracle" here. The doc made a mistake, the baby lived. Frankly, I'd need to see some sort of science to believe any of this crunchy "skin to skin" stuff... If I was really crass, I'd say I'd need to see some identically premature babies left in cribs with no skin to skin contact as a control... but that would be crass you know?
