This film was, to me at least, the greatest super hero film to date. Ever. I just can't get enough of that action, and the pacing, dialogue and maturity of it was just icing on top. Superman is my least loved (most hated, even) super hero of them all, and I love this film.

@artician, for me the best visually stunning Superman film to date, and for everyone...I watched this vid with the sound off and watched the kid's reaction with the screen super-imposition, and pretty much inserted his dialog for him, goes something like this:

Whoa..Bad-ass costume and mountains...
YAY, CLOUDS!
YAYYY GROUNDS!!
YAYYYYY! MORE WATERS....TOUCH IT!

( i maybe am bored,have to maybe pee, I'm hungry a liitle), "YAAAY HOLE IN GROUND- FLY THROUGH!"

Just watched it two weeks ago and I thought it was much better than the reviews gave it credit for. However, I do agree with some of the critics' comments. For example, I felt the romance was forced plus the kiss scene just felt off to me--it would have been more natural if they had just been friends in this film and they saved the romance for a sequel.

There were also some just plain weird scenes--Superman flies to his Mom's rescue but only plows down Zod while leaving his mom alone with five or six of Zod's officers...wtf?

I tried showing the movie to my 2.5 year old (she likes action movies) but the fighting and effects were a bit too realistic for her and she got too scared to watch it. Star Wars (the prequels and the Clone Wars series) are more her speed.

best superman film? definitely. best superhero movie? nah.

This is my favourite superhero film. I have watched it a half-dozen times and it really holds up. Especially the action, which is really not repetitious at all if you pay attention.

Most of the common criticisms ring false to me. Especially the ones about Superman being a murderer, not saving people, punching Zod through buildings (he puts Zod through a 7-Eleven but does not actually punch Zod through any skyscrapers in Metropolis).. etc.

Watch Me Crank Dat Soulja Boy den Super Man Dat ho.

I came in expecting Man of Steel bashing, and feel like I've wandered into a bizarro world. Best superhero movie ever?? It had its moments but good lord the climax felt endless. What was it, like 40 minutes of CGI explosions? Brutal.

The climax and final battle were WAY over the top.... really too bad.

I'm sorry but you guys suck. Just stop watching action/superhero movies. MAN OF STEEL has a lot of flaws, but that climax is among the best hour of action cinema ever created.
