Dupes happen. Hey...can we make a T-shirt with that logo?

Point one for SG! Next round: Which famous rock star helped found MTV, and what was the name of the controversial band he was in?

I remember my brothers & sister & I crowded around a TV set that day waiting for the test pattern to change.
Yikes, I'm getting old. It is adorable in hindsight how they kept using the word "stereo" like it was cutting edge high-tech.

When my dad bought a stereo tv...(circa 1984) We were cutting edge baby!! My brother and I ran out to the "barn" where his band's gear was and brought in two HUGE floor speakers and hooked it up to the tv.

We thought we'd reached Nirvana, lol

I believe the first video was Dire Straits, money for nothing, but I'm not sure and didnt google it

EDIT: ok, googled, seems i was partially right, as that was the first song on MTV europe, seems Video Killed The Radio Star was the first ever.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

Wow, someone should take this idea and run with it - so it's like the radio, but instead of DJs you have "VJs" and music video clips. Fantastic idea.

(Shame it's devolved into Girls Gone Wild PG Edition)

I remember when MTV started. The only VJ's I liked were the late, great JJ Jackson and of course Martha Quinn. Alan Hunter was kinda cool...but Nina Blackwood was ditsy and that Mark guy was just downright lame...with a capital L.
