Paybacksays...I've never liked what this douche has as opinions, but his stance regarding moral-posturing over facts is spot on. Social media is just mob rule writ large.
...oh, and I was speaking about the guest, not Maher. That douche is okay.
Jinxsays...You know what they say about broken clocks.

Paybacksays...That you should probably buy a new one because it's ultimately cheaper unless it's an antique grandfather clock passed down through your family for 157 years but taking it to a clockmaker, you find out Great-grandpa Steven did you no favours because to refurbish it would cost more than your truck?
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that one...

HenningKOsays...He seemed pretty okay here. A bit simplistic maybe. It's all because of Leftist policies in academia? C'mon. Agree on moral posturing. Agree on exposure being better than coddling in general. Agree on more authoritative parenting (at least more than what I see as the norm now).
You guys must know something about him that I don't.
LiquidDriftsays...He's a conservative, so many progressives don't like his positions. Personally, as a progressive moderate, I think he's pretty interesting to listen to, though I disagree with some things he says. He's a rare conservative intellectual, the kind that don't make up bullshit to support their positions.

ChaosEnginesays...He doesn't make shit up, but he does tend to exaggerate.
His main schtick is that all universities are filled with precious snowflakes that can't handle any dissenting opinion outside their safe spaces, which just isn't true.
Sure there have been a few high profile stories of people being waaaaaay too zealous about "not offending people", but those are remarkable because they're rare. Most universities still happily engage in controversial discussions.
Also "leftist"... that is not a thing. It's hard to have a genuine debate with people when you caricature their positions.

entr0pysays...That's a great point. My experience of education in the US was that K-12 were incredibly cautious to the point of stifling any independent thought or difficult discussions. Then in college you were instantly presented with teachers who want to challenge your ideas about the world, and want to draw out and discuss the topics that were always off limits before.
