12028Dehumanizing? Perhaps. Indicative of McCain's confrontational psychology? Most likely. Shameful? Absolutely. Thankfully, "That One" will be America's next president.
T-manFrom the internets: "Nice to meet you. Do you mind if I call you 'That One'?"
spoco2McCain is really a disgusting person... there are too many counts of him showing his true colours, too many times you can see through the painfully thin veneer to the grumpy, angry, bigoted man underneath
rychanI thought it was tacky but not necessarily racist or dehumanizing. But the GOP is actually turning this into a rally cry.

If it was just a throwaway comment that's one thing, but as a campaign slogan? It's their funeral.
XaxWell, if backfired, once again. McCain is digging his own grave. Post-debate polls put Obama way out in front.
Mazesays...McCain seriously creeps me out.
SketchMan, you people are fast posters!
9980says...What a little jerk.
dplinthe shouldnt have called him that, you know what these people are like
hueco_tanksAmazing how one of the least important things gets the most attention while economic crisis and two wars are being discussed at a debate. At this point, anything that helps Obama get elected makes me happy... but I still wish we wouldn't spend so much time on this garbage.

Actually, I think it's an indication of his temperament — which is very relevant in situations like this. Over the past couple of weeks — when Obama's taken a significant lead in the polls — the voters have gotten an image of him as cool, calm, and collected. They've gotten an image of McCain as angry and erratic. Based on the results in the polls, it's obvious which the voter prefer in times like these.
NordlichReiterMcCain is a bigot.
13267I can't imagine they'll justify turning it into a campaign.. but you never know.
It was a bad move.
volumptuousHe only said "that one" since he can't say "that ni**er" on TV.
MINKi don't see any racism here, just petty anger which an angry old man is failing to hide. It's like "Dammit I could be president of the universe if I could just get rid of THAT GUY".
ponceleonWho YOU callin "you people?"

this is perpetuating unimportant junk.
when YOU PEOPLE (not referring to blacks) chop the country/constituion i love to bits, i reserve my right to complain
qruelsheesh, cut McCain some slack :-) He's so old he probably forgot Obama's name.

Wait a minute... you're saying the Democrats are responsible for chopping the country and constitution to bits?! Riiiiight, and up is down, good is evil, and McCain will be the next president.
Perhaps you've forgotten who has been at the wheel for the last 8 years, but you'd be in the minority.
littledragon_79I didn't really think anything of the comment. I was too focused on how crappy and pointless this debate was. I could have gotten the same crap from a few campaign ads in less than 5 min. I thought this was a waste of time.
doremifaAnother nonissue.
Pring4says..."Another nonissue."
Exactly
FlowersInHisHairCorollary: another non-issue clogging up the sift.
quantumushroomIf you want to see despicable, unapologetic racism, sexism and ageism, look no further than the Donkey Party and their media lackeys. Observe the way they've treated Powell, Palin, Clarence Thomas, Alberto Gonzales, Condi, Bush's wife and daughters and now McCain.
Anyone outside of the liberal multi-cult circle of tolerance is fair game for their treachery, yet they're the first to howl "racism" when called on their BS. The sissies can dish it but not take it.
Robert Byrd, the "ex" Ku Klux Klansman is whom Democrats revere as "the conscience of the Senate".
So please, liberals, refrain from pretending you're not hateful in your own special ways.
MINK^ ahhh, you addressed "liberals" and i am not one, so i will ignore you.
