The Craptian Iron America Man is a huge minus for me - Marvel took a box office kicking on the America film compared to it's compatriots (yes it was mildly monetarily successful but there was very little buzz and it did underperform compared to Thor and both the iron man films).

To me making Iron Man more American is a MASSIVE mistake - but time will tell.

too much gold on the new IM armor.

And the Extremis story has been done to death. Comics, motion comic, animated series. Too bad they couldn't do something original.

the Mandarin just looks silly as well.

he's called the Iron Patriot and is a regular suit in the comics, where it's piloted by norman osbourne. interested in seeing who's in it here.

Oh ok nice to know as I can't say I'm a massive comic book fan. That said surely bringing Osbourne is asking for trouble (re Sony owning Spidey).

And still iron patriot? never heard of him - trailer looks on first view to be making Tony even less alcoholic and more American.

Looked a bit cgi heavy to me, especially the destruction of Tony's house.

For me, first movie worked because it was fun. Same with the Avengers.
Iron Man as high drama doesn't really interest me.

am i the only one who can see the writing on the suit? it clearly says "Lt Col James Rhodes" on the edge of the chest plate. I'm hoping for a more alcoholic Tony Stark, it makes it more relatable for me.

Trailer was very lacking in information, and I caught a whiff of emo in there. WRONG.

Where's Downey's signature humor, ffs? That sold Iron Man to me, and it was the best and most memorable part of the Avengers trailer. They should have taken a lesson on how solidly that was received.

Iron Man as portrayed by Downey shouldn't completely grow up. Ever.

VoodooVsays...

That was actually my complaint about Iron Man 2....too many jokes. Tony Stark really isn't that much of a jokester. I don't mind the wisecracks, but there's a limit. So I don't mind that 3 will be a bit more serious. My main concern is going to be the Mandarin. I've just never got into the whole east vs west conflict between the two as that was mainly a throwback to the vietnam era and the early 80's. That and Ben Kingsley is clearly not chinese. The accent he uses in the trailer is just...weird

The problem with some of the non-cgi shots of the armor is that it's hard to fake that the suit is not metal. It's hard to fake that something is pretty heavy or unyielding when it actually isn't
