chicchoreaI knew a twenty something college grad who thought that the sun rose in the west and set in the east. Argued so. She was, after all, a college graduate. Yikes!
Unsung_Herosays...For once, one of these "lets interview tons of people but edit out all the right answers and keep the few people who don't know in it", actually puts some of the people getting the answer right in!! Thank god... and to think nearly 70% of Australians still believe it takes 365 days to go around the sun. Their education system must be in shambles.
ctrlaltbleachThank god they used Ausies and not Americans!

westyIts easy to get the question wrong even if u knew the answer and its not a unlikely thing for most people to knwo the anser to , you have to rmeber these people are just been asked out the blue. and its an easy question to confuse on the spot.
rottenseedThat end bit was the best. I was quietly cheering his realization of his own stupidity.

It was in the middle of my 19th year, and I told you that in confidence!
moodoniaWooh Bondi!
SagemindMy 8 year old son said 24 hours
My Wife looked puzzled after just hearing my son's answer but conceded to the 24 hours because she wasn't sure.
My 13 year old daughter heard us from the kitchen and piped up with "That's not right, it take a year..."
It takes roughly 365 days for the Earth to go around the Sun once. This means that the Earth is rushing through space around the Sun at a rate of about 67,000 miles per hour! The time it takes for the Earth to go around the Sun one full time is what we call a year.
Actualy, it takes 365.25 days for earth to orbit the sun, however because you cannot live a quarter day every year it was decided that every four years there would be a leap year with an extra day to compensate!

TruckchaseWait, you mean the Sun doesn't revolve around the Earth?
xxovercastxx30% of Americans would get it right and the rest would say, "Hey! Ya'll think ya'lls tricky? Da Earf don't go 'round no Sun; e'rybody know dat!"
