A sniper in Mosul, Iraq came within centimeters of killing journalist Ammar Alwaely, who escaped with minor cuts thanks to the camera on his chest. -yt

Could have been a ricochet...
But judging by the crack sound you can hear just before the GoPro explodes it was directed fire. So, yeah possibly shock?
