One on a long list of musicians I wish I could've seen.
DID get to see Adrian Belew though. He did one of those small club, acoustic shows that was pretty cool.

I missed and am kicking myself when dweezil zappa came out to Australia, to play 'Zappa plays Zappa'. I would just love to see a cover band now

I saw Zappa plays Zappa last time they were in Ireland, my first time seeing them as I missed the tour with Steve Vai. I also saw the grandmothers of invention in the mid 90's I'm guessing? That was an amazing gig, they did a brilliant version of King Kong.

Problem with both gigs was the number of people pissed out of their minds, falling down drunk and yelling at the musicians. I've seen a more sober crowd at Ac/DC shows. Weird.

Just last month the local symphony orchestra here put on a wicked Zappa show and even got Ike Willis to come out and sing and Ed Mann on mallets. It kicked some major ass. There weren't any drunks since it was in a concert hall

Hot stuff. After all these years, all this time... still misunderstood, mostly ignored, and under-appreciated.

Not many bands could play as tight as any of Zappa's bands. He was a perfectionist. A true genius. His autobiography is well worth reading, great stuff. The sheik yerbouti cover is one his best pictures.
