Fox News allows "magic negro" on New Years broadcast

Via: ScrapeUp

Watch the message on the bottom of the screen. Took me a couple times to see what they were talking about

It certainly seems plausible that this is real given what I've read. "Barack the magic negro" sung to the tune of puff the magic dragon, is a song that's been played on Rush Limbaugh's radio show. I imagine a few Rush listeners also watch fox news. And these were comments sent as text messages by viewers. It's remarkably stupid, but maybe they just patched them in directly, or with some filter that didn't catch "negro".

LOL!!!!!!!
I'm sorry. I know it was done in bad intention and all, but goddamn this is some funny stuff.
Magic Negro LOL LOL LOL Never heard it before LOL

It's a common film archetype. Think like The Green Mile, or Bruce Almighty. Some critics say its so common because most script writers don't know any black people and don't know how to write for them. Sort of like how internet comics all write women as eye rolling house fraus.

I love the way VP of programming for FOX, Suzanne Scott, has tried to deflect attention over to CNN.

"We received tens of thousands of text message submissions during our New Years Eve special, and this particular viewer submission was inadvertently cleared for air. At FOX we recognize our error as opposed to networks who allow their hosts to utter crude vulgarities to the public."

Obviously subscribing to the 'best form of defense is attack' school of thought.

Anyway, this has all given me a good chuckle.

Idiots confused April 1 with January 1. Funny stuff.
