griefer_queafersays...Fascinating... yet frightening. If it was CNN they would be trying to summon a hologram of the bear.
ReverendTedsays...I'm trying to imagine the possible scenarios where something like this gets released. Let's see here...
- Reporter receives undesirable assignment, produces ridiculous segment as retaliation, management releases it as submitted to spite him
- Reporter produces segment with absurd additions as a joke, producers think it's hilarious and just can't keep it to themselves
- Reporter and management understand viral nature of the Internet, release ridiculous segment for publicity
- Reporter was offered the bear cutout visual aid by a well-meaning but misguided colleague or supervisor and couldn't resist taking it all the way (leading to any of the other scenarios)
The rabbit\squirrel\thing head pretty much eliminates any possibility that this was produced without tongue firmly in cheek.
lesserfoolsays...^
5th possibility is that ReverendTed has too much faith in meat-brained humans.
Lannsays...It's just a blackbear...
millertime1211says..."I was so scared!"
Ummm, GO INSIDE LADY!! I doubt the bear is going to come knock on your door, and if at that point you open it.....you deserve to get eaten!
Paybacksays...This reporter is awesome. He took what could have been either the most boring story of the day --or worse, Fox News'd it into a massacre averted-- and made a COMPLETELY ACCURATE, if embellished, segment that is being seen around the world.
Xaielaosays...We have black bears all over the place where I love. There is little to be scared of unless directly threatened. I could name half a dozen people I know who have had direct contact with bears on their land, in there garage, etc. I've seen them on multiple occasions and seen signs of them form tracks to scratchings on trees dozens of times.
Esoogsays...ummmm, WTF rabbit head guy?!
If our news was this entertaining, I might actually watch it! That was great! How many grainy thumbnails labelling "murder" and "car accident" do we have to see? Get us a guy trotting through the woods holding a bear cut-out and I'll tune in nightly!
entr0pysays...This could be greatly improved with the simple addition of chewbacca style sound effects. 8/10
QuadraPixelsays...I failed at 43 Seconds. lol at the reenactment!
rottenseedsays...Did anybody catch that the town was called "chagrin"? If that's not ironical, then I don't know what is...
E_Nygmasays..."this is probably what the black bear looked like... except real."
blankfistsays...As good if not better than the effects in the new Star Wars trilogy.
Shpydirsays...I had this really snarky comment all planned out and then the guy in the rabbit suit with the vaguely Norm-MacDonald-imitating-Burt-Reynolds inflections won me over.
"I'm good...I'm...uhhh, faster than a bear."
pmkierstsays...Ok, clearly some of the participants here "get it", but do they all? I wonder about the woman who can't believe she got that close to a bear (WTF, what did you think a woods was for? Get an apartment, lady). Does she know?
Awesome, played so straight I was wonder. Till the rabbit head guy.
