Krupotop 15 candidate.
chilaxeOh, too bad they got knocked off. I imagine seeing a boat go in the water first-hand would be an amazing experience.
ThrobbinProbably Americans. And Born-again Christians. And Palin-lovers.
csnel3says...Throbbin, You sound like a true idiot.
doogleProbably Americans. And fundamentalist Christians. And Palin-fans -
Oh - somebody already pointed that out.
Oopsies.
volumptuousI actually didn't see a single person get knocked off of that dock.

Watch the left side of the video at the beginning. There are hundreds of people on the bank. Shortly thereafter they are not there...

Ahhh anti-Christianity is the new racism. Thanks for the irrational slams, place feels more like youtube everyday.
doogle^ Yeah, Throbbin's an ass.
J-Rovasays...I can't believe they let people stand there.
ElJardineroI can understand why people stood there, I mean we all know video posters and commenters on the internet are way to intelligent to do something like this. But I really don't understand why no one told them that that wasn't a safe place to stand.
I mean, are they all supposed to be "waves generated from ship launches" experts?
It's very easy to have 20-20 hindsight.
evilspongebobsays...looking at it repeatedly - I too don't see many/anyone get taken out. It seems as though the area directly across from the ship was pretty well cordoned off.

Look again - there are clearly loads of people on the far left who are standing to the starboard side of the ship. They are definitely gone after the splash and that wasn't because they all ran away extremely quickly in unison.

It must be herd mentality and to be honest if I had been there I can see myself getting extremely soggy and not being the smart guy watching through binoculars.
schmawyTake a look at the last second of this video...

i'm pretty sure anti-atheism was the old racism, except it's still there. glad you get the opportunity to feel persecuted about something though
cheesemooWas the ship supposed to hit the water that hard?
moodoniaIf memory serves (and it may not) this happened in Europe, somewhere like Holland i think. Someplace in Europe that still has a shipbuilding industry, cant be many.
chilaxeOh please... those onlookers were clearly atheists!
iauiNono. Look at the left side of the screen as the camera pans over. You can see that there is a space (probably 20m long) between where the water has hit and surged over the dock and where the people were allowed to stand. The reason people begin to run is because the dock fills with water and it begins to run down the dock towards the people.
imstellar28says...a case study in outsourcing your thinking to others.

Boohoo.
But, seriously, as an atheist I do not endorse Throbbin's comments -- they're trite and unintelligent -- everything an atheist isn't. (I'm lol'ing by the way, not serious-facing.)
Besides, Christianity has been the new racism since its founder was crucified, NOT since Videosift, nor Youtube. In fact, it might be the only original tradition Christians have from the source they stole it from.
sepatowni see some people trying to keep their shoes dry...
maatcAccording to the comments on the YouTube source page this took place at Pattje Shipyards, in Westerbroek, Netherlands.
Date and Ship still unclear though.
