Man Wants Kidney Back from Estranged Wife

A Long Island doctor, embroiled in a four-year long divorce from his wife, is making an interesting request. He wants the kidney that he donated to her back, or its equivalent value. More in this article.

In a divorce, men have a hard time getting back the wedding ring, because it was a gift.

Too bad, so sad, doctor.

So she cheated on you. It sucks, I know. But seriously?

I know he just wants the money, since she obviously won't give back the kidney. But damn.

Of course it's covered by CBS. That's a Howard Stern lawyer guy, I wonder how much this is on his show.

They talked about it a little on Stern's show today. The lawyer is Dominick Barber but he's not Stern's lawyer. He's a lawyer that calls the show a lot.

He made a pretty interesting case in my opinion. (not that I support it)

Basically what he's arguing is that the lack of earning potential (see: lifespan) is going to affect his financial future. Not only did she take from his ability to earn but she wants more. Here's this woman who said she loved the guy, then cheated on him, then left him (he didn't leave her for cheating) and then she says, "not only do I want half of your kidneys, I want half of your money." Think about that for a minute.

Seriously, I don't think this case really has merit but I do think it's hilarious.

This guy literally gave this woman a piece of his body to be with her. A vital organ for that matter. But somehow she's not satisfied. She needs half of EVERYTHING.

LOL

haha just because Dominick Barber can make an interesting point from a bullshit case doesnt mean its not a bullshit case; it means he is a good lawyer. im sure RYJKYJ knows that though.

isnt there a saying about not giving something you may one day want back, but obviously much better said?

and i dont think this video covers any of the many reasons volumptuous is never getting married.

Well - strictly speaking I really doubt he's trying to get the kidney back or even its 'equivalent value'. This is smart. Really smart. He is adding a 1.5 million dollar 'chip' to the divorce table. Divorces heavily favor the woman, even if the woman is a total piece of work slimeball that deserves to be thrown in the gutter without one red cent. This woman is undoubtedly trying to take the doc the cleaners and leave him paying for her home, car, and comfort for the rest of her life even though she is the one that cheated on him.

If the doc can at least get this kidney's 'concept value' on the table then he can use it as a bargaining chip to prevent her from getting other stuff. He may simply be thinking that if he's lucky he will be able to use it to keep her from getting the house, the car, his retirement, the kids, or other things. His lawyer can say, "Hey - we gave up 1.5 million dollars in value on the kidney... Why should she be getting alimony, the car, and a house too?"

He's not asking for the kidney back. I think the guy more than deserves what he's asking for. Dominic Barbara has some hilariously fake teeth and that tan is just too much. "Steak for two, for one!" (voice is Moe from the Simpson's meets Donald Duck)

I support him. I never understood why divorces always favour the women. What happened to equality?

If she couldn't keep her dirty nasty whore underwear on outside the house, she shouldn't have accepted his kidney.

Budzos got it right. No where is he actually asking for it back, only the money that it is worth. He couldnt possibly ask for it back he said.

Stupid news clip, stupid headline, stupid submission.
