Congressman physically threatens reporter

Idiot. When you threaten the press, you do it off camera!

My favourite part is that he later released a statement congratulating himself for "telling off" the reporter for having the nerve to question him.

"I was extremely annoyed because I was doing NY1 a favour by rushing to do their interview first in lieu of several other requests. The reporter knew that I was in a hurry and was only there to comment on the State of the Union, but insisted on taking a disrespectful and cheap shot at the end of the interview, because I did not have time to speak off-topic. I verbally took the reporter to task and told him off, because I expect a certain level of professionalism and respect, especially when I go out of my way to do that reporter a favour. I doubt that I am the first Member of Congress to tell off a reporter, and I am sure I won’t be the last."

Well, it sure was nice of that Congressman to do the press a favor so he could get in a photo op at his convenience. (What? Sorry, No, if you're going to ask me any real questions, then no, I don't have time for that -- and if you try, I will throw you over the balcony and squash you like the bug you are!)

Really have to ask yourself just how stupid you have to be to do this RIGHT in front of a camera you know is recording. I suppose it could be narcissism and he just doesn't care, but still.

well at one point you even see him looking at the camera, so I dunno if he was looking to see if the camera was off because he knew what he was about to say and just mis-calculated because it obviously was on.

my guess is that because the reporter looked diminutive and weak, he thought he could get away with playing the alpha male bully card.

I like how republicans like to toss around the word thug (usually code for black people.) This is what a thug actually looks like.
