That whole "empty vessel" comment is exactly the problem with the Republican party. I really liked McCain back in 2000 but the empty vessel George W. Bush won that nomination. Fast forward to 2008 and McCain became the empty vessel and he won the Republican nomination. It seems that in order to lead the Republican party nowadays, one has to become an empty vessel and pander to the lowest common denominator. Unfortunately Sarah Palin is the ultimate empty vessel.
