Bose active suspension doesn't just handle bumps & corners

Apparently Bose has been working on this system for the past 15 years. If it makes it onto production cars, it will be pretty revolutionary.

My understanding is that they are electromagnetic and managed by a computer which tells the wheels when to rise and fall based on sensors which detect changes in the road below. Similar to those pneumatic tables that correct for floor vibration in real-time.

and at deathcow's point, you're probably right about reliability increases, but parts in this suspension setup probably need to be retuned or replaced at least as often as tires.
