I suspect fake/setup. At 1:07 you can see the adults shadows on the walls, later also. Probably watching him and directing the whole video. Sure they could be up, but this is said to be 'the dark of the night'. I'm just not buying it.

I don't know of twisting a safety-lock (which is no more complicated than turning a flat-head screw) can be considered 'picking'.

They're designed to be easy to open, in case an adult needs to get in. At best they're 'childproof' in the same sense that the bottle of aspirin my mom can't open, but my seven-year-old son can open is 'childproof'.
