My personal opinion is that I can't believe it lost to Silence of the Lambs for Best Picture at the Oscars.

It was the only animated film ever nominated for best picture. Silence of the Lambs was a shoo-in, really.
JFK, Prince of Tides, and Bugsy were also nominated.
It's a classic.

I've always found the message of this song disturbing. A servant is only content when he/she is serving the noble class. Très Disney.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time that's for sure. But with that line up at the Oscars that year, I can't believe that Silence of the Lambs beat out JFK. Can't believe that ANYTHING beat out JFK. Whither you believe it or not, JFK was the best movie of that year.
