Fack I love this miniseries.

This scene was immensely satisfying after following the series from the first episode. Also, it's funny to see David Schwimmer in a role outside of Friends. I thought he did a very good job in Band of Brothers.

Did Sobel get bwned when Winters pulled rank?
Or did Winters get pwned for having to doing it?

Both got pwnd for both of those reasons imo.. but winters was more pwnd.

We call what Sobel did "gaffing him off", as in ignoring Major Winters. He went out of his way to do him a discourtesy by not saluting a superior officer. I wouldn't really describe this as anyone getting pwnd, it was just a case of Sobel being a dick and getting called on it.

Gaffing someone off is never seen as admirable or being a bad ass, so no props for Sobel for doing it.

Maybe for people in the army, but not for people outside of it, i think

I just watched the first episode last night. Will have to continue with Episode 2 today. I think it might be my favourite one.

Initiation by fire. This series truly has some great great moments.

Ross is such an asshole. no wonder Rachel dumped him so many times.

I like spaghetti.

What i really like about this show is that the Germans actually speak flawless german.

With that said sorry what what my forefathers (unwillingly/unknowingly?) did.(wrong)

In Dick Winters' war memoirs this exchange wasn't so dramatic but that's Hollywood for you. In his memoirs Winters encounters Sobel in a street in Mourmelon towards the end of the war and when Sobel ignores him Winters says "Captain Sobel, we salute and honor the rank". After Sobel salutes him Winters writes "Sobel's debt to me had been paid in full". I recommend that book to anyone who likes Band of Brothers as much as I do.
