KnivesOutsays...All I could think about is... "when is she going to smash her fingers?"
This video made me cringe more than smile.
stephantualsays...Looks to me like the dog is doing a great job at trying to keep the baby from messing around with kitchen drawers. Parents on the other hand seem oblivious to the simple fact that 1) babys+kitchen drawers = 10o clock news, 2) baby fingers+slamming drawers = hospital trip.
The mind boggles.
calvadossays...I would've titled it "The Baby, The Dog, and the Drawer". You know, sort of like "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe".
transportersays...what's with all the debbie downers?
gigersays...Who here didn't want to see finger smashing? It would at least give some qualifcation to the reason behind it being top 15.
dagsays...Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)
Your response to this video probably separates the the parents from the non-parents. Baby-proofing a house is always a hassle. We bought the drawer locks.
persephonesays...Her left hand was nowhere near the moving drawer. Kids are smarter than most adults give them credit for.
KnivesOutsays...Persephone: the very last second of the video, her right hand is on the moving drawer, apparently reaching into it. It's only coincidence that that dog pushed the drawer in faster than her little arm could keep up with.
At that age, the extent of cognitive thought goes somewhere between "pretty colors", "hungry", and "tummy hurts <poops> feels better". I don't believe for a second that a child that age is responsible enough to guard her own fingers from slamming drawers.
Case in point: when my son was about that age, he had the brilliant idea that he could swim in the carpet, if only he dove into it at the right angle (inspired by a Tom & Jerry cartoon I think.) He tried, face first, and wasn't happy when he failed.
Deanosays...Those last few seconds looked risky. Definitely the sort of thing a parent should at least think about preventing first instead of filming. Still, cute clip.
bigbikemansays...Wow guys. It's not like the drawer was being shoved closed by a 10 ton mac truck at 60 km/h. So her fingers get bumped. 10 minutes of crying at most and it's all over. I doubt it would even leave a mark. My daughter has done almost the exact same thing on multiple occasions and she's just fine, thanks.
Kids hurt themselves sometimes, and I think that's a good thing for the most part. You try to spare them pain, and you avoid situations that could cause serious injury, but you can't prevent everything and sooner or later they have to learn that the big bad world can hurt them. Better to learn that lesson sooner, and in little increments. The only thing I would be worried about is the contents of the drawers; knives would be bad. As for childproofing: who said the kid lives there? Might be visiting a relative.
Anyway, rant aside, this was one of the cutest things I've seen here. Upvotes for babies giggling; I could listen to that all day.
Abel_Priscsays...Good job, puppy! I love the look he gives the parents as if "You going to help out? She keeps doing it..."
smibbosays...i have four kids and we're pragmatic... i go with bigbikeman. she wouldn't have been severely hurt if she had gotten her fingers caught. cute clip.
rottenseedsays...*promote the cuteness
I have a monkey that slaps you in the face when you try to open my weed drawer.
