dystopianfuturetodaysays...I highly recommend checking out the Conan the Barbarian DVD commentary track. It's comedy gold.
conansays...wtf? why did they even name it "karate kid"? what has kung fu to do with karate? what china with japan? and *head explodes*
GoodAttorneysays...OMFG. That was hilarious! All it needed was some lightsabers and a little kung pow dog and it would have been perfect.

You didn't get the memo? I just did...all Asians are the same apparently.
xxovercastxxsays...Supposedly it's going to be "The Kung Fu Kid" outside the US but to the average Joe here "Karate" means "martial art".
The movie doesn't look nearly as terrible as I expected.
FancyLsays...Upvote for "Jacket off"
antsays...*nsfw for cussing, but funny!

Are they online?
lucky760says...I actually really want to see this, but I am extremely irritated by the application of the term Karate to a film about Kung Fu and China. At the same time, I know it's all about marketing and appealing to the American public who is so familiar with (and maybe nostalgic for) the original Karate Kid, which was about the Japanese martial art Karate.
Still, I'd have been much happier if they'd just called it The Kung Fu Kid. Not everyone in America is a fucking ignoramus, nor should people actively contribute to the country's collective ignorance.

THIS!
i dont even watch the movie without the commentary anymore. Think ima go watch it right now actually! thanks dyst!
kymbossays...Jacket off. Good to see they're taking innuendo in a nude erection.
ryanbennittsays...Ah, rumours abound, apparently the kid knows a little karate before going to china, and is nicknamed the karate kid after being beaten up the first time. So really its a derogatory name given to him by the kung fu fighters.
