All thats "right" in one network?

blankfistsays...

It's not from the 'Left' so it's terrible?

From the channel: Videos of terrible, awful What-Were-They-Thinking commercial/pop-culture products/releases. Terrible music videos, movies, TV show clips, toys, etc. Things that some corporate exec decided to actually give a green light. The sorts of things that you watch, and think "SOMEBODY should have known better that to release that". The stuff that's so bad, you can't help but share.

Yogisays...

I love Kelsey Grammer but I don't even know what this is going to be about. It sounds like it'll be more for independents because half of everything there that had to do with policies are things Right Wing leaders did.

Washed up sitcom personality pimps a network which intends to broadcast original programming based on the partisan politics of the republican party? That's textbook terrible. I'm surprised you don't agree.

Check out the promos on the channel, which include republican reality shows, republican comedy showcases and another show where republicans play poker. It's a goldmine of *fail

They could be trying to build upon the success of the Fox News Network, but I think that the entertainment tastes of that demographic could already be fulfilled by USA and TNT. I mean, there are only so many hours of Murder She Wrote and Matlock episodes to show.>> ^dystopianfuturetoday:

huh... that sucks. I really like Frasier... but didn't know that Kelsey was such a right wing knob.

How sad.

And sad that a channel is launching with the explicit intent of being right wing politically... that's very sad.

gwiz665says...

It sucks that stuff like "big government", "taxes", "civil rights" are basically buzzwords that a particular wing has stolen. Big government is a bad thing, but with all the loons shouting it in the streets, if you say that you're branded a loon too.

I guess there's nothing better than to be constantly told that what you already believe is right.

Kelsey Grammer is the perfect pitch man for this...

He's been Divorced Twice.
Has married a Stripper.
Has married a former Playboy Model.
Has been arrested 3 times related to his alcohol and cocaine problems.

I can't wait for his inevitable show on family values.

If this was a pro-Democrat video promoting the Left Channel and quantumushroom tagged it terrible and fail, the community would be asking for his head on a spit.

Quantumushroom is a butt-muncher, and so are his politics.

This is more of the same juvenile right-wing horse crap about how everything will turn out fine if you just let the corporations and rich people have their way.

Of all the fundamentalists in the world--be they Christian, Muslim, or Jew--the "Free Market Fundamentalist" is the worst of them all.

Because the reality of how poorly his perfect world actually works is there staring him in the face, yet he'll never admit it, and he'll blame its failure on everyone but himself, and on everything but his boyish naiveté in that which is, at best, merely a hypothetical model of a perfect world.

I can't speak for all democrats, but I generally prefer artistic merit over partisan politics in my television Hulu/Netfix programming. If the democratic party were to produce a themed political TV network which featured scripted partisan poker games, I'd be the first to tag it terrible.

In fairness, the Democrats would never need to make a channel like this, because artists, authors, directors, actors, musicians and other thoughtful creative types are overwhelmingly liberal (hmmmm..), and there is no shortage of liberal themes (love, forgiveness, compassion, fairness, cooperation, sacrifice, social justice) in modern cinema, music, television, print, theater, etc. - It's probably tough to make a compelling drama about tort reform or denying health care to poor people.

RightNetwork appears to be another failed attempt at emulating the popularity and success of The Daily Show. What conservatives don't understand is that the Daily Show succeeds because it prioritizes entertainment value over politics. I love the politics of TDS, but I wouldn't watch it if it weren't consistently smart, funny, engaging and unpredictable. When the right figures this out and creates something that isn't terrible, then it won't have to be worried about being called out for what it is.

Ya know, I really wish the right could figure out how to make jokes based on their politics that weren't all based on some variation of hatred, either for liberals, or non-white races.

I'd love the kind of insight into their mindset that humor can provide, but I'm getting the sickening feeling that this is insight into their mindset, and I'm just not liking what I see...

Oh, I think conservatives understand that very well. That's what Fox News is, after all. Present the story in an unbiased manner? Hell no; let's just yell about it and get people riled up. Very "entertaining", very highly rated, debatably very successful.

Still, Right Network will likely fail because (a) I don't think most people want pissy partisan politics to be a part of everything in their lives and (b) I think they're overestimating their target demographic. Most successful shows may be produced by "liberal" artists and writers, but they have nothing at all to do with politics.
