bareboards2says...'Despite constant debunking, this old husbands’ tale has endured for centuries. “The legal position that pregnancy disproved a claim of rape appears to have been instituted in the U.K. sometime in the 13th century,” the medical historian Vanessa Heggie wrote in a blog post for The Guardian on Monday. She explained that one of Britain’s earliest legal texts, written in about 1290, included a clause based on this bit of folk wisdom: “If, however, the woman should have conceived at the time alleged in the appeal, it abates, for without a woman’s consent she could not conceive.” '
Thirteenth century. THIRTEENTH CENTURY.

PostalBlowfishsays...to be fair, he also refuses to sail over the horizon for safety reasons. wouldn't want to get stranded among the turtles.
ponceleonsays...I want to come up with some witty joke about him getting raped repeatedly in prison and not getting pregnant, but I'm just too tired...
MarineGunrocksays...On behalf of the people in America that don't subscribe to ancient myths and backwards thinking:
I'm sorry.

lantern53says...Atheism is really the most awful thought, I don't know how anyone can possibly entertain it. Life is so short, what is the point if there is nothing after death.
You may not want to believe in a higher power, but for your own sake or curiosity, do a little research. I recommend studying near death experiences.
Or not, no skin off of my nose if you have no curiosity about the greatest questions of all time.
Fortunately for the wave, the ocean will eventually re-absorb it. Just because the wave doesn't believe in the ocean, doesn't mean the ocean will reject it. The ocean doesn't give a good crap what the wave believes.
charliemsays...Near death experiences have been scientifically investigated, and reproduced.
Large power, low frequency EM waves induce similar "white tunnel" prospect.
As does depriving the brain of oxygen.
Its not supernatural, its a hallucination cause your brain gets fucked up as you near death and cant process the world like it should.
Blue screen of death...if you will.
speechlesssays...What the press release should have been:
"I HAD NO IDEA HOW A WOMAN'S REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM WORKS AND I HAVE NO BUSINESS TALKING ABOUT IT, LET ALONE MAKING LAWS REGARDING IT. I AM TRULY SORRY FOR MY IGNORANCE AND WILL NOW DROP OUT OF THE SENATE RACE. I WILL NOW DEVOTE THE REST OF MY LIFE TOWARDS THE GOAL OF ELIMINATING THIS IGNORANCE FROM THE REST OF MY PARTY. PLEASE FORGIVE ME."

Leaving aside the greeting-card level of philosophy on display here, what the fuck does that have to do with this video?

And yet we're still regularly subjected to this kind of sanctimoniousness kindergarten philosophy.
hpqpsays...Since you want to take a religious approach Mr Akin, how about you start atoning first (eg. @speechless' comment)?
