Gimmick or not, this is a great cover.

When the guy in the middle starting singing I was absolutely floored! Don't care if it was prerecorded vox, his voice carries some serious weight!

I can appreciate a good cover when it is it's own song, but this is just a carbon copy cover. The lead vocalist even tries to sound as much like Gotye as possible.

Perhaps it is a carbon copy vocally but I much prefer the acoustic minimalism of this version.
