But yes, seeing a powerfull and potetially extremly harmful drug advertised for what seems to be (I am no medical expert) a "cosmetic disorder"is frightening.

The dog just shows a very normal fixed action pattern. Dogs will also turn in circles before laying down to "flatten the gras" even on open ground, etc.If you place a ball shaped object before a nesting goose, it will automatically roll the "escaped egg" back into the nest.

You should maybe learn some thing about instinctive behaviour and maybe think about some of your actions, why for example some restaurants have booths or separators between tables so that us cave dwellers can sit with our backs to a secure "wall" even if it is only chest high and made from corrugated cardboard.

Seriously, this is not as crazy as it sounds.
1. It's hard to use a sword well. People will have to train with it for years. This kind of training builds character and discipline.
2. Swords are awesome.
3. It's possible to defend yourself using a sword, but pretty hard to hold up a bank with one.
4. Gun fights are boring, sword fights are epic.

I should have guessed that because I singled out African Americans and my assumption that some, being unable to know where in Africa their ancestors were abducted from, tend to see a continent of 57 Nations and dozens of ethnicities and religions as "their homeland", I would be called a racist.

Have you ever even considered that I was trying to comment upon a feature of some people that I did not understand because I don't share it? I do not feel any connection to any place my ancestors might have lived in the same way that I am not proud of any of their achievements and not ashamed by any of their failings. They are not me.

As I said, my point did not neccessarily have a direct link to the point being made in this video.
I did not get that Mr. Chapelle went to SA to get away from stardom, I falsely presumed that he was one of the African Americans I read about from time to time that go "back" to Africa to "find their roots".

What I meant be my comment was that I personally don't feel any roots to ancestors that lived three hundred years ago and don't get how one could.

Furthermore, I often read about African Americans going back to "Africa". Keep in mind that Africa is the world's second largest continent and encompases 57 nations and hundreds of ethnicities, religions and cultures.

An African American who goes to Africa to escape being a minority will (in my humble opinion) only find to be a member of a new minority, as a tourist.

A question that always bothered me and that has almost nothing to do with this video: Why do so many African Americans think they have to go to Africa to find their roots? In Europe, in all countries except France, 99% of African people are really first or second generation immigrants from one of the dozens of Nations in Africa.

They have relatives living there.

I understand that.

African Americans have their roots as much in "Africa", as I have my roots in....I don't even know...Germany? France? Russia? Hungary?

I don't even know where my ancestors lived three hundred years ago.

And I don't care.

I don't get it.

This thread is a prime example of why I try to not argue with believers.

@shinyblurry: You do not argue a point, you state "facts" that you "know". All your "points" come back to "Because it says so in the bible" -> "The Bible must be true because it's God's word" --> "God's word must be true becuase he says so in the Bible"

It has been argued for centuries by atheists and theist alike. Some of the greatest thinkers that our world knew have tried to argue it and even with the greatest minds of christian theology, the likes of Thomas Aquinas, Agustine of Hippo, Anselm of Canterbury etc. etc. etc. it all comes down to the central circular logic fallacy of "There is a god because there is a god"

There is no way to prove the existence of any god. It has been tried for thousands of years and no one has ever acomplished it.

Since every argument in theology derives it's weight from God's existence....
