How to Refuse Police Searches

Kinect Grocery Cart

dumbest shit ever.

put it all on an android / I phone and get companies to use a standardized secondary bar code system.

I don't get why you get people that do these things and they focus on the stupid pointless shit that doesn't work ( presumably because its visually impressive for noobs) rather than focusing on making a product that can actually work and is practical for real world operation.

Deconstructing Animated GIFs

What's so special about very short video clips repeating?

Nothing really you always have trendy twat face mother fuckers talking bullshit about things.

But by having a specific rules and confines to work to it forces stuff to be a specific way , so for example the character limitations for text messaging forced people to write messages in a certain way . or the limitation of old computers forced people to make games a certain way with certain types of art and animation.

Gifs do the same thing it just forces people to do things in a certain way and so you end up with people trying to creatively work within those confines.

There is no resoin why a film has to be 90 min 1 min or 3 seconds or play once through loop or be short and loop , in the end its ll just doing random shit and if people can happen to enjoy it then its not a problem.

In fairness this video was not that bad and was largely informative but you definitely get allot of people who consider themselves more "arty" or "artistic" than others talking utter shit as a way for them to build there ego over other people.

"Kara" - Quantic Dream's real-time tech demo

westy says...

Nice demo but rather pointless it being in real time.

without the back end for game play and with very specific camera angles you can do allot of things on old hard ware that look good and far above most games on the system.

Things do need to be simplified when doing a show of a limited time.
They can't do a show where it's like browsing wikipedia, jumping from one subject into some minute detail of it, and digging deeper until you forget what you were studying in the first place.
Not that i would mind if someone were to make a show like that.

exactly but the compromise is not saying verbs and words that have no real meaning. The compromise is saying , " this is what it is called " " these scientists have done x " "the ramifications are y"
and then include links at the end of a show or a short sting that tells people where to go if they are interested in perusing it or what books to read / maths to study.

The general public is ignorant as to what the basic principles of the scientific method are so trying to then explain the more abstract aspects of quantum mechanics is utterly futile.

Still the lecture was a realy good effort and most of it was fantastic , IT is depressing to me that your average joe on the street probably doesn't know of the slit experiment and that a good proportion of the adults in that room with him didn't .

Was Brian Cox wrong? - Sixty Symbols

westy says...

This goes back to exactly what I said when the lecture was put on-line , and that is that some things can not be simplified and understood to any usfull level. Sure have some vaague descriptions and get people intrestead but then make sure you tell them that it simply cannot be understood unless you do some research into it and understand the principals behind it to a reasonable depth.

"I actually think its probably futile trying to explain or teach Quantum physics to the general public other than saying it exists and this is how things are. It would be far more productive teaching the importance of science and the scientific method and the philosophy of science as that is something that can be grasped fully by sum-one of very limited knowlage of the subject matter and has the largest ramifications. I think its the fast editing that makes this watch-able basically your brain never has enough time to tell you its shit or evaluate things so even though its only very moderetly amusing you keep watching.

Police Shoot Family Dog in Front of 13yr old Boy

westy says...

lol the kid should be happy that it was the dog not him or his parents getting shot.

police are retarded for shooting the dog

dog shouldn't be out and about and for all we know it might have been acting mental

It does seem in general the police are to happy to shoot stuff in USA even people.

The content industry has made everybody a pirate.

westy says...

its prity obvouse , the one things pirated content lacks is reliability and quality ( although often better than lagit stuff at the moment )

if publishers offer games music films as instant download load instant access on different pyament plans that span all media then they would make a total killing and allso remove the second hand market which is costing them way more than bloody general pirating.

for example I should be able to google a film and the top link should be to a websit for that film the website should allow me to

1) buy a phisical copy that comes with a poster and colector shit ( can be same price as blue ray now or more its a colecters edition for fans this would be the same for physical media companies would still make a killing of this as collectors and fans will still buy these for the physical item and promotions.

2) Allow me to instantly stream the film on-line for a set fee based on how old it is
under 3 months 5 USD for SD streem 7USD for HD/3D streem with ablity to watch it any time that week older than 3 months 3USD SD $5HD
Older than 6 months 1USD SD $3HD

3) have a subscription service for all films produced by all companies
£15 a month gets me full acess to all the above streeming and downloading and storing and play back on all platforms same time as they come out in cinema ( people go to the cinema because its the cinema/socail thing, not because of the film ( most people will watch films at home in the future)
£2.50 a month gets me full access to stream all films in SD and a discount on HD 1 off streems.

The whole point is that you make it conveant and price it so that everyone or each house gets it by default you allso link a socail aspect of it so people get there own account for the sake of comments and sharing stuff on face book , the social side is why multiple people in a single house would get it.

Just make sure your ammo is in a fireproof box in your coal-powered, taxpayer-funded, rolling electroturd.

In case you hadn't noticed, all American cars are taxpayer funded these days. I can't speak to the Volt, but I've been in a Nissan Leaf with 4 guys and the car was surprisingly powerful. And needless-to-say, the Tesla vehicles do not suffer from any kind of performance deficiency. So go ahead, laugh it up while you're paying $4-5 for a gallon of corn juice that'll carry you about 20 miles or so. Meanwhile, the electric car owners will spend $4-5 on a full charge of a 200 mile battery pack.

[edit] I don't know why, but I was thinking the Volt was all electric. Screw these hybrids, Detroit. Spend some damn R&D money on battery energy density.

Quality source you got yourself there. This is most likely bullshit...like the Toyota Prius crap that turned out to be a BUNCH of Fucking lies. I'm waiting until more evidence comes out...but I'm sure sensationalist news sites won't.

Are you mental in what way does your comment make sense ?

electric from nuclear coal gas or whatever is as tax funded as the oil people put in cars It might even be the case that oil requires and consumes more tax funding if you include military expenses required to keep oil coming.

electric cars specifcaly might be tax funded projects but evan then when you calculate all involved costs I'm sure its negligible or comparable to the tax oil industry receives or other industries have received for RND.

Also why would it be inherently bad for things to be tax funded? even if electric cars are a bag of shit at this point in time and the technology might be debatable, at least if it did work out it would move america away from international dependencies which is what most conservatives, liberationists and liberals want.

Because you haven't made a coherent point your comment is redundant.
