Hey, wow, thanks for taking the trouble! The video in your reply works great for me. I don't need the visuals per se, just want to check out the sound of the band

I had a pretty good look for a backup embed which will work in Germany, but as far as I can tell the blocked one is the only version available with the animation : This is a bit of a shame, since my promote would've worked a lot better if the vid was available in Germany :

I did find this one, but couldn't work out how to embed:

There is also a live version from the German Music Festival in Paris, but I won't be surprised if it's blocked for you:

A Real "None of the Above" Choice in 2012

Off topic: Whats up with the tinkerbell powered status updates and tickers at the bottom? Is that now standard in US tv? Them stealing screen real estate is annoying enough, but with all the tinkles its more annoying than ever.

Wikipedia Drops GoDaddy Over SOPA -- TYT

srd says...

Two things that irritate me a bit about this commentary:

a) they gloss over the fact that GoDaddy was involved (some say their legal department directly, others say via lobbyists) in writing the draft AND they are themselves exempt from SOPA, and

b) didn't TYT have a GoDaddy affiliate program at one point? Is it still active? If so, are they going to drop it in response?

For some reason, I expected a bit more of TYT on this count.

Prometheus - First Trailer

http://videosift.com/video/Alien-Trailer there's the original one.

Two things really hit me after watching the original trailer in the first time since forever:
a) 20 years after that trailer, I'd be going to music festivals where they'd be playing that kind of music for hours on end
b) If I didn't know Alien, I'd really want to watch that movie after that trailer. Is it just me or have the past 10 years been rather disappointing cinema wise? Here's hoping to a change in trends and the comeback of the good movies.

Drunk woman falls underneath train at Barnsley station UK

So we have CCTV everywhere for "security purposes" and when something like this happens, you need to rely on the alertness of your fellow passengers to prevent really bad things from happening. Yeah, sounds good to me.

You thought that other FedEx driver was bad?

srd says...

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. At least you got your packages delivered. In two out of three overseas shipments that I was to receive, handled on both sides by fedex, the delivery got as far as the delivery van and then got sent back. No attempts at delivery, no attempts at calling me, nothing. Just sent back without a comment. No Fedex ever again, if I can avoid it.

FedEx Guy Going To Be Looking For A New Job

Ah the difference of the "privacy" concept between the US and Europe. See the google street view bruhaha we had over here...

The laws that conan mentioned basically says that while you're allowed to set up security cameras to monitor your own property, they are not allowed to film whats going on beyond your property. That includes public spaces. In addition, if people have a chance of being filmed, there needs to be a clearly visible sign stating that filming is taking place and who is doing it.

I'm sure a lot of americans just don't get the european view, just as a lot of europeans just won't get the american view of privacy. All in all, while I think there is a bit of overreaction (especially in germany), I'm more in favor of the european view. I just don't trust corporations with my data, directly or deduced, since I will be bought and sold and will never know to whom, why and what for. But thats just me

Lego Super Star Destroyer built in one night

Looks like Lego Model 10221, 475 Euros at Amazon at the moment.

10030 still beats that (regular star destroyer). Also ~3100 parts, but costs 2600 Euros.

Still waiting for the equivalent scale death star model.
