This is just stupid. How will it confuse kids to know what's legal in their state? If parents are worried that five minutes of civilized discussion in school is going to overcome 24/7 brainwashing at home, maybe they should just move to a fundamentalist compound and homeschool. I feel so sorry for kids of fundamentalist wackos.

It is unconscionable how long this has been going on. My husband had advanced officer training in the early nineties and one of his classmates was an incredibly talented officer who got a kicked out a few years later. I still think of her when I hear these stories. I am very disappointed in Obama for not acting on this. I am willing to forgive him putting off action on DOMA, but getting rid of DADT helps end injustice and makes our country safer.

To HollywoodBob, I think it's more complicated as to why people choose to serve in the military. As The LtCol here pointed out, for many it is a long-standing family tradition. The military is a completely different way of life and some people are made for it and cannot find true fulfillment elsewhere. It's a shame we are not allowing those people to do what is best for them and best for all of us.

I am no fan of Joe Arpaio. In fact, I was hoping this would be a video I could send in response when I get those annoying email forwards about him. But I don't think this really shows him supporting white supremacists. You can't even hear what he says to them and I would certainly not say that he "posed for pictures" with them. I wouldn't be surprised if Sheriff Joe has sympathies with these groups, but he's probably smart enough not to support them publicly. And the "white nationalist" support of Arpaio doesn't in and of itself make him a bad guy. So, disappointing video all in all. But watching it does make me glad that these folks have to live with a black president!

There really is something about a man with a Scottish accent (even if they don't sound exactly like Sean Connery). I went dancing with a friend who is Scottish and he was swarmed by women.

The great thing is that no one was arrested for marijuana possession, though a few folks got in trouble for trying to sell t-shirts and such without a license. I drive across campus every day taking my daughter home from school and I had never seen so many people as there were on 4/20. Even Towelie went by on a skateboard!

I'm sure that's staged. The guy who supposedly doesn't know what's going on does a great job of staying right in the middle of the frame, even when he switches places with his friend. And then he very conveniently leaves the apartment at the end. Given that it's fake, they really could have made it funnier.

Science? Really? The results of the brain scans are mildly interesting, but hardly surprising whether you believe in "Speaking in tongues" or not. When you speak a familiar and real language, your language centers are active. When you speak gibberish (or "tongues"), your language centers are not active. Who would have expected that? Why didn't they do a study of an atheist speaking gibberish for comparison? What in the world is this supposed to prove? ABC is stretching to the breaking point here.

Also have to add that I honestly felt embarrassed watching these people. It's so foolish looking, it's like you caught someone picking their nose in public or something.
