Didn't end, I also picked it because i like welding, its 'nice'... and the fact that the guy is standing in what looks like a giant pepper grinder also intrigued me.

A. I am aware who called the discard.

B. I didn't make a personal attack - my reference to "you" was more to ones self, not specifically at twiddles.

C. Perhaps my english is different to yours, but if the welder had been killed by the explosion, i probably would have titled it something like "Welder gets killed by explosion, Debris almost decapitates him". Nearly implies a near miss, "is near to" not "has a good try at".

It didn't even occour to me that he was killed or seriously injured, I clearly see him not getting hit my anything hard.. but i did go back to break and found a couple of comments by the original poster there who definately says he made a full recovery minus his eyebrows.

Erm, i really don't think he was killed.. it knocks his welding helmet off a good 8 inches on top of his head..

News storeys are unlikely for an industrial accident.. especially when its a lucky escape.

I was actually hopeing someone here could explain what he was welding and why it exploded.

No centrifugal pumps there, its a large turbo, probably off a quite large diesel engine, and despite how angry it sounds, its not working that much harder than when it would be on an engine.. probably hotter, but not much harder..

biggest danger with that sort of thing is melting fuel lines etc.. fire.. fire is bad, except when its coming out of your own jet engine, then its gooOood.

As long as its not too late at night, they probably aren't breaking too many rules.. it does however look like a commercial garage anyway.

I would prefer none of them had to die, but i cannot sanction actions to shoot down a defenceless plane.. they could have just followed it until it landed and arrested them? they were absoloutely no threat.
