Where in the world is it easiest to get rich? Surprise.

Interesting to see this in unison with the other video on the Top 15 - "Why Norway is full of Teslas". It's like they utilize the parts of American capitalism that work with the ideals of a social democracy (which obviously work much better than anything we have going on in the States) to create a better future - one hopefully without oil & gas and use tech to solve those issues but for now using oil money to get there.

I moved to southern Arizona last year - still have yet to experience one these - but I surely will in the next two months. These dust storms are actually called "haboobs" and are prominent during the monsoon season which is typically June-August throughout Arizona & New Mexico. Which is quite interesting because those are the hottest months and although somewhat dangerous (floods/lightning) the monsoons begin a cooling down process (and immediate relief) which correlates with another 6 months of really nice weather.

I remember being stoned with some friends in Golden Gate Park at night in the early aughts. Someone was flying one of these with rotating glowing lights but we couldn't hear a sound coming from it from how far away we were - it really seemed like a UFO.

Games that think more gameplay mechanics equals more fun

shagen454 says...

Agree. Can't stand all the superfluous fetch quests - at this point I'm even sick of inventory management. In games like Fallout, or Elder Scrolls, Witcher - these days I hardly even loot the corpses because I'm so sick of it after 25+ years.

One of the best games I've played recently was - What Remains of Edith Finch - a linear, "walking simulator" which implements innovative/interesting design solutions to drive the story forward, very detailed and very tightly designed - kind of on the opposite spectrum of open-world RPGs - but very awesome.

I've built about 15+ generative visuals videos over the last year, using Max MSP & my own music. Is that what you used? It almost has the appearance of something like Resolume since it's very symmetrical, which is cool.

Explore Turkey’s Hidden Underground City

Wish there was a bit more on display but what an amazing find. That's like a childhood fantasy of mine to all of a sudden find a hidden city behind a wall., whoever found it was mindblown for a long while.

Cop Pepper Spraying Teenage Girl

shagen454 says...

The cops are obviously not very well trained for this sort of situation - but I don't see what else they could have done unless they had a specialized juvenile officer on the scene; but macing a 15 year old girl is way overboard. Good job radicalizing the youth, coppers!

People laugh, but apparently after watching the John McAfee documentary - he really liked doo doo on his face and in his mouth.

Kale Chips - You Suck at Cooking

shagen454 says...

That looks tasty. Boiling Kale and adding it into soup is also really good. It's amazing how shite kale tastes unless you cook it somehow and then it springs it's flavor.
