Speaking for the American people, I accept Canada's apology, for I too am a member of the "Love/Hate America Club".

I love the beauty of America's rivers, national parks, mountains, coastlines and forests, but hate that they are being polluted, sold to private for-profit mega-energy companies, and were unjustly taken from the native peoples. I love that Americans pride themselves on being the good guys, fighting the good fight and knowing how to choose right from wrong, but hate the fact that America's governmental agencies and political leaders – not to mention military industries - have historically and continuously brought death and misery to multitudes of innocent (I repeat: innocent) people around the world. I could of course go on and on describing the juxtaposition of great American accomplishments compared with the dark and unsavory sides of this great nation’s demonstrated abilities, but perhaps the point is made…..It’s OK to hate the bad things about America….. and even better yet to use that hatred as inspiration to actively work for a better America….a future America that uses its ample resources to genuinely and effectively foster peace, health, and tolerance both within it’s own borders as well as amongst its global neighbors.

Gosh! I was considering calling and ordering pizza tonight, but now I'm scared to....

suggestion to all: contact your Supervisor of Elections office tomorrow and tell them you want to be designated for permanent absentee ballot status. Anyone can legally do this. You will receive your actual paper ballot in the mail well before election day...you can submit it early or deliver it yourself on election day.

We must not allow our voting rights to be controlled by private coprorate for-profit entities.

That hamster is bigger than that snake would really prefer to have to eat. I'm sure the snake could handle it, but his instinctive inclination would be to seek a more appropriately sized meal. They know how to size up potential prey very well. As the snake’s caretaker, I would be more than a little concerned for the snake’s safety. I’ve seen firsthand the results of a severe rodent bite to a snake and it ain’t pretty, and can get easily infected – especially if the snake’s quarters aren’t kept really clean. Also, I don’t think the snake finds it at all “cute” the way the hamster is climbing and digging all over it… just makes the snake more stressed than it already is trying to deal with captive conditions.
